On 24 June 1982, British Airways Flight 9 experiences St. Elmo's fire en route from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to Perth, Australia. A few minutes later, all four engines flame out. After descending, the crew successfully restarts the engines and lands safely. The St. Elmo's fire and engine flame-outs were caused by volcanic ash spewed by Galunggung in Indonesia during a major eruption.

You could say fate has led Kenichi to their door, or you could say he was just following the hottie. Either way, he’s about to get whipped into serious shape. If he can survive some hard-core training, he might survive another day at school. He might even score with Miu. Yeah, you could call Kenichi a wimp. But let’s go with underdog instead.

While snowmobiling, two guys accidentally release an alien named Xylene from a strange container. At a park, Ben (as Wildmutt) steals Gwen's kite, so she casts a spell to make dogs attracted to him. Grandpa Max seems sad to be in St. Louis since it is where he met his wife. Xylene attacks, and Grandpa Max comes to defend, only to recognize her. Xylene reveals that she came to find the Omnitrix since she lost it when Vilgax attacked her ship. While Grandpa Max and Xylene talk about the past, a robot emerges from the area where Xylene was and attacks Ben and Gwen. The mechadroid attacks twice, taking Grandpa Max with him. Now Ben must work with Xylene (to his dismay) to save Grandpa Max.

Now the Loonatics must save Zadavia and defeat this evil band. It turns out that the band are robots led by Rupes Oberon, a man who wrote a theme song for Zadavia on Freleng, but was shot down since there already was a theme. He uses the guitar to steal all of Zadavia's powers.
